Stink Bug Control

Brown marmorated stink bugs are a fall and winter problem in Northwest Ohio — they cluster on the sunny side of buildings in September and October, then sneak inside through gaps to overwinter. The fix is exterior treatment in late summer or early fall before they migrate, plus sealing the gaps they're using.

Signs you might have a problem

  • Shield-shaped bugs gathering on south or west walls in early fall
  • Bugs appearing indoors near windows on warm winter days
  • A pungent odor when one is crushed or disturbed

Our approach

  1. 1Late-summer / early-fall exterior perimeter treatment
  2. 2Sealing of likely entry points (gaps around vents, eaves, siding)
  3. 3Indoor follow-up if active hot spots remain after exterior work
  4. 4Vacuum-and-discard guidance for bugs already inside (don't crush)

Common questions

When should stink bug treatment be done?
Mid-August through early October. Once the temperature drops and they've already moved in, exterior treatment doesn't help — at that point it's an indoor problem.
